LG Shine was originally marketed in Asia and then expanded to Europe before making its way to the US under AT&T. This phone is an eye-catching and trendy cell phone in the market today.
Features and Specs
Weighing only 4.23 ounces at 3.9 x 2.0 x 0.6 inches, this slider-style phone fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. The body features a stylish, polished-metal casing that feels solid. A big plus for this phone is the vibrant 2.2" wide LCD screen that doubles as a mirror when the phone is turned off.
The Shine is loaded with multimedia features: 2 MP camera and camcorder, video recorder, music player (MP3, WMA and AAC), Bluetooth, Mobile email, MicroSD™ memory port with 4 GB support, multimedia messaging, 5-way navigation joystick, video share calling, and a one-touch speakerphone.
How to Operate
Sliding the phone open and closed is fairly easy to do with the help of a spring mechanism that goes into motion once the slide is half-way opened or closed. The keypad that is revealed under the slider can be compared to the keypad found on the RAZR. The buttons are a bit on the small side but are easy to get used to. If you find yourself sending a lot of text messages, you may prefer a QWERTY style keypad. However, with a little practice, the LG Shine keypad is easy to get accustomed to.
On the front of the phone is a joystick that is used for navigation. I found the joystick to be a bit sensitive to the touch at first. Within a few minutes, I was able to quickly get used to it and found that it performed the task at hand well.
Camera and Online Applications
The camera on this phone is also easy to use and takes crisp pictures with realistic and vibrant colors. The camera features a 2 megapixel autofocus with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens and a flash option for darker shots. If you hate having to always tote around a digital camera, or find yourself forgetting your camera just when you needed it, this phone with the camera feature is the solution for you.
Also featured with this handset are plenty of online applications available for use: XM radio, music videos, and online videos just to name a few.
Being an owner of this phone, I find it perfect for everyday use. The camera/camcorder is a major plus on this phone along with the music player, multimedia messaging, and MicroSD™ memory port for storage. It’s stylish, easy to use, compact, has a large and very appealing screen with vivid colors, and the call quality is clear.
The LG Shine is available exclusively through AT&T for $150 after a $50 mail-in-rebate and a two-year contract. It’s perfect for bundling all of your multimedia needs into one small and stylish package. This phone is one that literally lives up to its name in every way.
